Description
The H. Maximilianus, bishop of Lorch, refuses to sacrifice at the statue of the god of war Mars. Around him other imprisoned Christians. Right, a man with a machete, a harbinger of the martyrdom of St. Maximilianus. The print has a signature Latin and is the fourth picture of a 60-part series on the subject of the saints of Bavaria.
