Senufo Tribe

Small Senufo figures such as this one often represent nature spirits. The Senufo Women’s association, the Sandogo, use these images in divination to help determine an individual’s problems and a solution or remedy for those problems. This type of figure is often used as an offering and placed in a shrine.
